On being a coach
“Some really interesting personal lifelong ambitions have been raised by a couple of the people in the group this week. And once again I am reminded of what a privilege it is to be a catalyst in their journey. If you are even remotely interested in coaching I urge you not to hesitate. Do whatever it takes. And commit to someone else’s success. It is amazing. “
This from Diary Of A Coach this week.

Living the life of a coach is a great way of being and it opens up many possibilities into enjoying spreading those possibilities around to others in their lives.
Merely having an ‘inquisitive’ way of having conversations does, I believe, make it such fun.
Not knowing the way that we have impacted on others, just by asking questions to help them become more enlightened with their lives, is fascinating and very emotionally rewarding, even though many times we don’t know the outcome.
From a career point of view business can be much more challenging, which takes the fun out of the ethic of a coaching life (small ‘c’).
This in itself is another conversation starter, perhaps on this forum.

Being a coach is a wonderful way to make a living - once you get to a point when you are making a living.
I have been coaching for 8 years and I now have a steady referral network and a full practice but getting here has taken blood sweat and tears and there have been times when I have wondered whether it was going to be worth it. Starting any new business can be tough but when it is in a market that has many practitioners - that can add an extra difficulty.
Having said that, I am so pleased that I stuck with it because spending your days earning a living as a coach is very special and a privilege to be trusted to be part of someone’s life on a positive path to change. This is as close as I have come to taking out the line between work and play. What could be better than that!
Enjoy the sunshine!
